Quilted Zippered Tissue Case / Holder (in the hoop)
Product Information
After much searching, I finally bought myself a new handbag/purse the other day. While cleaning out and transferring the contents of my old one, I came across a very ugly, dirty and disintegrated packet of pocket tissues lurking in the bottom of the bag.
So....embroidery machine to the rescue!!
These cases are super quick and easy to make - and don't let that zip scare you either!
All stitching is done in the 5x7 hoop - even the zip, and there is NO ADDITIONAL sewing required - yay!
Full step-by-step colour photo instructions in PDF format are included too.
ONE WORD OF WARNING THOUGH....these are addictive! Once you have made one, you will want to make another, just because you will be thinking "Hmmm, I wonder what one would look like in that fabric???".
Then Mum/Mom will want one, your girlfriends will want one, Nanna will want one - oh, that reminds me - that little ribbon loop on the end of the case is particularly handy for Nanna, whose fingers probably aren't as nimble as they used to be when fiddling with zippers and other closures! That little ribbon loop makes it much easier for zipping up the zip!
These in the hoop tissue holders also make great stocking stuffers for Christmas, and also nice little token gifts for teachers and friends. They are sure to become a craft fair favourite as well!
Not only for tissues either - you can put a lipstick and/or other small cosmetics in there so you don't have to go searching for them rolling around in the bottom of your bag. Or how about using it as a discreet way of carrying those pads and tampons? Or a babies dummy/pacifier holder? The possibilities are endless!!
These cases are designed to snugly fit the pocket packs of nine or ten tissues, like the ones in the photo below. These types of small packs used to be available with a split down the middle of the pack to dispense the tissues. You may still be able to find these, however it seems more common now for the packs to open at the ends. You can however either split the plastic down the middle, or simply remove the tissues from the pack and pop them directly into the case. The pocket packs of tissues to fit these cases measure approximately 5.5cm wide x 10.5cm long x 2.25cm deep.
