Shabby Luggage Tag (in the hoop)
A quick and easy in-the-hoop design, and yes it fits the 4x4 hoop - yay!
You will have lots of fun making these in all kinds of fabrics.
The tag has a clear vinyl window on the front.
The back of the tag has a pocket into which a card can be inserted.
The folded fabric at the top of the pocket on the back creates the slit for the card to be inserted, and also prevents the card from sliding out.
I have included a PDF file for the name and address card insert (which will print eight cards on one piece of A4 cardstock). A customer subsequently requested an insert with space to write just a name and phone number (which is a good idea if you are concerned about security issues), so I have now included that too :-)
Another great idea is to use the luggage tag as a gift tag - just a little extra something for the recipient to then use again as a luggage or bag tag!
I have also included a PDF file to print the "To & From" card insert too.
The following formats are included with the design download - PES, JEF, HUS, VIP, DST, EXP, XXX, ART and VP3.
(Please note that as there is only one file embroidery file in this set, all formats are within the main design folder, not in individual format folders as the other newer sets are.)
Step-by-step instructions are included in PDF format, with LOTS of helpful photos to show you how to make it.
A few notes about this design -
- Pinking shears have been used to cut around the edges. These are optional but recommended.
- This design looks best when matching thread is used in the bobbin. If you have not embroidered with embroidery thread in your bobbin before, you may want to try it out to see whether your machine embroiders satisfactorily. Using a matching bobbin thread is optional, but will of course make the back of the tag look better.
- The final colour stop of the design is NOT TO BE STITCHED. Some machines return the needle to the centre of the hoop at the completion of the design and make a stitch. This last colour stop is simply to prevent that from happening, as it would puncture the vinyl and ruin the project.
Actual design size is 2.37" x 3.91" (60.2mm x 99.2mm) - 1803 stitches
